Description
The New England Fall Flower Show was held on Saturday, September 18th through Sunday, September 22nd at MHS Elm Bank in Wellesley, MA. This is the oldest Flower Show in the United States.

Ikebana International Boston chapter members from the Ikenobo, Ohara, and Sogetsu schools made 13 arrangements. These arrangements truly highlighted the wide range of artistic forms that each school offers. Every arrangement utilized beautiful elements, colors, lines and containers in their designs. We were honored to share the beauty and charm of ikebana with the audience at this long running floral tradition.

During the show, 13 Boston chapter members served as docents, talking about ikebana, answering questions, and providing guests with information about our organizational activities. A centerpiece ikebana arrangement created by Kaye Vosburgh of the Sogetsu school was the hanaguruma or “flower carriage”. The flower carriage represents a traditional decorative Japanese motif filled with an artistic arrangement of flowers.
