Ikebana International Boston Chapter was represented by 28 members from Ikenobo School, Ohara School, Sogetsu School and Ichiyo School who made a total of 27 arrangements on pedestals and 2 floor arrangements. Thrirty-four members served as docents during the five day Show.

The members of the Ikenobo School made Shoka and Rikka style arrangements. The President of the School, Jorge Padilla-Zamudio, made a stunning Rikka Shimputai using a variety of material ranging from Obake, Ginger, Calla lily and many more. The Ohara School also made a traditional Heika, style, a Landscape style, a Hana-isho Radial Form and several free style arrangements. They also made an interesting floor arrangement using mitsumata, curly willow and anthuriums.

The Sogetsu School members made many beautiful free style arrangements. The chair of the Flower Show, Joanne Caccavale, made a large floor arrangement using bamboo, kiwi vine and spring branches emphasizing line, color, and mass.

There was also a Curriculum Corner where members made arrangements illustrating the basic principles guiding each School’s curriculum. Shoka Shimputai and Rikka Shofutai from Ikenobo School.
