Annual Meeting and Luncheon

In a joint program with Sogetsu Massachusetts Branch, Ikebana International Boston Chapter #17, was honored to welcome Ms. Kosa Nishiyama, Sogetsu Master Instructor to their annual meeting on May 31, 2023 at the Brae Burn Country Club.
Ms. Nishiyama ‘s demonstration featured 8 spectacular Sogetsu free-style designs using seasonal branches, garden flowers and tropical plant material. She concluded the program with a spectacular large design featuring ladders created from bare branches which reached across the table and to the floor. Aluminum netting created a waterfall effect among the Vanda Orchids, Lilies and Evergreen branches. The arrangements were on view during the luncheon which followed the program.
A morning workshop, Free Style- With Flowers Only, was held for I. I. and Sogetsu members on June 1. After Nishiyama-sensei created 2 beautiful demonstration pieces, 50 participants enjoyed making arrangements followed by critiques.
